About Our Team
At Systems Subfloor, our team is more than just a workforce—we're a family. Every member brings unique skills, a strong work ethic, and a passion for delivering top-quality flooring solutions. Meet the incredible individuals who make it all happen.
Liam – The Go-To Guy
Meet Liam, or as we call him, DonDon—a chippy by trade and an all-round top bloke. He started by lending a hand on a job, and his keen interest quickly turned into a full-time position. Liam’s skill, energy, and commitment are hard to come by.
With an eye for precision, he’s always double-checking with a spirit level, ensuring every floor is spot-on. Strong, fast, and always with an energy drink in hand, he balances hard work with a caring and no-fuss attitude.
Off the job, you'll find Liam on the football field, coaching and sharing his knowledge with the next generation. If you see him jumping out of the van with a handful of tools, you know the job’s about to get done!
Trent – The Problem Solver
When a challenge arises, Trent is the guy who figures it out. With a background in shopfitting and plant machinery operation, he tackles every task with expertise and ease, handling whatever the job throws at him like a pro. A key member of the Systems Subfloor crew, he’s fuelled by a toastie and a small lactose-free latte, never backing down from a challenge. Always eager to expand his skills, he’s constantly looking for ways to improve.
In his spare time, you’ll find him on YouTube, learning new techniques and creating content, often with Working Class Man blaring in the background—though he sneaks in a little country music now and then. Living by the motto “failure teaches success,” Trent pushes boundaries, shares his knowledge with the team, and leads with a steady hand, making him an invaluable part of the crew.
Jamie (Lewi) – The Machine
Lewi is a second-year apprentice working towards her Flooring Technology Certificate, and she’s already making a name for herself. Ask her why floor prep, and she’ll tell you it’s the transformation—seeing a job go from rough to polished fuels her passion.
She can shift buckets of mixed topping all day without missing a beat, setting up sites with precision, spotting potential leaks, and ensuring every final check is flawless. Easily the neatest member of the crew, she brings a sharp eye for detail to every job.
If there’s a pet on-site, Lewi is the first to greet them—and they love her right back. Always the first on-site, oat flat white in hand (no sugar, thanks darlz), she’s ready to roll. As a proud deaf young woman, she mentors through Hear and Say, inspiring others with her dedication. And if you catch her jackhammering without hearing protection, don’t worry—her cochlear implants let her switch off the noise when needed.
Emily – The Rising Star
Balancing school with a hands-on apprenticeship, Em is proving she’s got what it takes to make it in the trade.
She thrives in the job site environment, always jumping into tasks with enthusiasm. Right now, she’s the designated “water girl,” but it’s clear she’s got the drive and potential for much more. Watch this space—Em is just getting started!
Neilly – The Visionary
Neilly got her start in flooring working alongside her dad, Chris, from the age of ten. What began as weekend work turned into a lifelong passion for doing things the right way, with no shortcuts.
“I want to keep my dad’s vision rolling—no quick fixes. Do it right so you don’t have to come back and fix it later. I might not have the facial hair, but flooring is my jam!”
Neilly has a clear vision for Systems Subfloor, leading the business with determination in a male-dominated industry. She juggles being a proud mum, wife, and part-owner while ensuring every job meets the highest standards.
Her favourite projects? Epoxy floors and 10-pallet floor topping jobs!
Chris – The Original Floor Prep Guy
Chris founded Systems Subfloor in the 1980s after years in the flooring industry. Transitioning from carpet and vinyl laying to subflooring, he built the business on a commitment to quality and a "do it right the first time" approach.
With over 40 years of experience, Chris is a legend in the field. He’s passing down his knowledge to the next generation, ensuring his legacy of craftsmanship lives on.
A proud poppy, he always makes time for family—though don’t talk to him before his morning Dare Iced Coffee! Oh, and he still handwrites his quotes, never missing a single detail.
Peter – The Admin & Tech Master
Peter is the backbone of our operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. With a rare combination of tech expertise and admin mastery, he keeps our systems in check and the business organised.
But don’t be fooled—Peter isn’t just about paperwork. He’s always ready to jump on the tools and help the crew out. Friendly, approachable, and always on point, he’s an essential part of the team.
Need a chat? Give Peter a call—he’s always happy to lend a hand.
"At Systems Subfloor, our team is our greatest strength. Whether on the tools or behind the scenes, each member plays a vital role in delivering the best flooring solutions possible. We take pride in what we do—and we do it right"
Chris Boaler
Chris started Systems Subfloor back in 1985, after years in the flooring industry. He made the transition to sub-flooring after working in carpet and vinyl laying. With over 40 years industry experience, he’s seen and put topping on pretty-much every platform. He is yet to top a plane - but is always looking for new challenges.
Chris built Systems Subfloor’s reputation on prioritising quality work. He is known for his ‘do it right the first time’ approach.
Neilly Boaler
Neilly first started working with her dad Chris when she was ten. It was a great weekend job. She honestly enjoyed it, and most of all enjoyed spending time with her dad. Neilly had a lot of focus on sport growing up so Chris always made jokes about her using work as her training.
Even when she began work as an Australian Border Force Operations Officer, Neilly would always work with her dad on days off. She loved it so much she made the decision to work with him full time.
In Neilly's words, "I want to keep my Dad’s vision rolling - no short cuts, no quick fixes. Do it right so you don’t have to come back and fix it later on. I might not have the facial hair, but flooring is my jam and I love being able to work with and learn from my dad."
Neilly's favourite jobs at the moment are Epoxy Flake floors, but nothing beats a good 6-pallet job of floor topping.
